Chevrolet has released a lot of fantastic vehicles over the years, but not all of them are still in production. For example, the Chevy Spark was discontinued in 2022, so you won’t find anything when looking for the 2024 Chevy Spark. However, it’s still an excellent vehicle if you want to buy a pre-owned vehicle, but if you wish for an upgraded vehicle, the 2024 Chevy Spark indirectly replaced the Spark. Let’s see how the two compare.

Chevy Spark vs. Chevy Trax: Which is Right for You?

Powertrain2024 Chevy Trax vs 2022 Chevy Spark | Glenview, IL

So, how does the powertrain from a 2022 vehicle hold up in 2023 and 2024? Well, it has an ECOTEX 1.4-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine that produces 94 lb-ft of torque and 98 hp, which is nicely sufficient for everyday driving.

The Trax has a 1.2-liter turbo engine. It produces 137 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. That extra power under the hood helps with acceleration and lets you go faster sooner, so this engine comes out on top when compared to the Spark’s.

Cargo Space

Having enough space for cargo is vital. More cargo makes it easier to transport large loads in one go and take extra luggage on trips. The Spark has a max cargo volume of 27.2 cubic feet if you fold down the 60/40 split rear seats. The 2024 Trax, on the other hand, can fit up to 54.1 cubic feet of cargo with the rear seats folded. That makes it more convenient for people who need to transport larger loads.

Driver Assistance Features

There are some available features in the Spark to help keep you safe. The features are automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, and lane departure warning. Rear park assist and a rear vision camera are available on some trims.

The Chevy Trax’s assistance features are standard on all trims. Along with the features above, the Trax also has the following distance indicators: high beam assist, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, teen driver technology, and even more.

Comfort and Technology

The Spark has manual single-zone air conditioning with a cabin air filter. It also has the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system with a 7-inch touchscreen with Wi-Fi, smartphone compatibility, and two USB ports available. The car seats up to 4 adults comfortably.

However, the Trax seats five passengers who’ll enjoy the more up-to-date infotainment system on an 11-inch central screen with smartphone compatibility and Wi-Fi availability. Wireless charging is available, but there are two USB ports for you to use, too.

Who Wins?

Although the Spark is still an excellent vehicle with everything you need, the Trax is objectively better when we directly compare the features. The engine is stronger, the technology is more up-to-date, and there are more driver assistance features and room for an additional passenger.
