Live music lovers are in luck! Glenview, IL is perfectly situated in an area surrounded by many unique music venues. Whether you’re looking for jazz or bluegrass, an intimate setting or an upbeat environment, you can find it at one of these places. Check out some of our favorites!

Mackey’s Hideout

This dive bar is a great place to spend the evening or stay late into the night, enjoying some tunes. They feature bands of all genres but most often have bluegrass and folk artists. They’re also popular for their expansive beer menu, which includes local craft beers and microbrews, as well as your favorite mainstream brands. Remember to drink responsibly and in moderation. Only consume alcohol if you are of legal drinking age and find a safe ride home.

Skokie Theatre

This building used to be a movie theatre but has since been renovated for use as a live theatre and music venue. The space is small and intimate, but that only contributes to its impressive acoustics, which shine during live concerts. As well, the size of the theatre means that every seat in the house has a great view of the stage, so you’re always close to the action.

Austin’s

This tavern is the perfect place to combine delicious food and great music. Typically featuring pop and rock bands, the venue itself is small and attached to the restaurant. On concert nights, it fills up fast and the energy is electric. It’s easy to see why the People’s Choice Awards in the Daily Herald have voted Austin’s Music Venue and Patio number one for over six years in a row.

The Hideout

This building is rich in history, as it is a 100-year-old house that was initially used by bootleggers. Today, it hosts live music that spans a range of genres, including alternative, country, punk, and post-rock. They embrace their obscurity and encourage rebels and misfits to find a place to be welcomed. As well, they are very involved with the community, hosting plays and performances, local benefits and events, and their big Anniversary Block Party.

Montrose Room

Tucked inside the luxurious InterContinental Chicago O’Hare hotel, this venue is an intimate and classy setting for your next concert experience! Although table seating is limited, the size of the room means you are close to the stage no matter where you choose to spend the night. They typically host jazz, which takes advantage of the room’s great acoustics. You can also get your parking validated so that you only have to pay $5!

Space

Everyone is sure to find a concert that interests them here, as the venue hosts a diverse range of shows. Some concerts are sitting, some are standing, some are loud, some are quieter. They host over three hundred events every year, so there’s always something to check out! Union Pizzeria is just out front too, which is perfect if you want to step out for a bite.

Any of these venues are worth a visit, so grab a couple of friends and get ready for a fun night. Don’t forget to stop by Jennings Chevrolet to find your next vehicle so you’re ready to hit the town and soak up some music!
