What’s New in 2022
2022 brings some excellent updates and changes to the 1500 LTD model. The interior has become more luxurious and comfortable and some new color options have been added for the exterior. The 2.7-liter engine has increased torque, and the diesel model can tow 4,000 pounds more than its predecessors. For off-roading adventures, you now have the support of ZR2 suspension.
Tech lovers will be pleased to see the updated instrument panel and center console now with available electronic shift control, as well as the 13.4-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster on LT trim models and above. Daytime running lamps now feature animated lighting sequences upon startup or approach for higher trim levels.
Engine Options
The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado has four fantastic engine options:
- 2.7-liter turbo-four (310 horsepower with 420 pound-feet of torque)
- 5.3-liter V-8 (355 horsepower with 383 pound-feet of torque)
- 6.2-liter V-8 (420 horsepower with 460 pound-feet of torque)

Safety Features
The new Silverado gives you confidence and peace of mind out on the road with some great safety features. Standard on all models is lane departure warning, collision alert, front pedestrian and automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beams. This year Chevrolet also offers Super Cruise technology, which allows you to drive hands-free on certain roads. In High Country models, eye-gaze technology ensures that your eyes are on the road.
Towing
When appropriately equipped, the Chevrolet Silverado has a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds, though these changes depending on the engine that you decide to go for. The minimum towing capacity that you can expect from the 2.7-liter engine is 6,800 pounds. To make towing even easier, the Silverado 1500 features StabiliTrak with Trailer Sway Control and Hill Start Assist.
Additionally, the Silverado boasts an available multi-view camera system. This shows fifteen views around your truck on the infotainment display, making it much easier to hitch your trailer and keep an eye on your precious cargo while you drive.
